Cloncurry Shire Council Mayor Greg Campbell and Resources Minister Dr Anthony Lynham will officially open the Cloncurry Airport Terminal on Tuesday.
“The completion of the upgrade to the Cloncurry Airport Terminal is a welcome addition to transport in the Cloncurry Shire,” Mayor Campbell said.
“The upgrade includes significant building improvements with the addition of security screening equipment, check‐in facilities and a baggage carousel.
“Residents, visitors and FIFO workers now have a welcoming terminal with a comfortable boarding lounge.”
Cloncurry Shire Council has also undertaken works to construct a new carpark and landscaping of the airport grounds.
Funding for the airport upgrade included $500,000 from the Queensland Government, and Cloncurry Shire Council contributed $3.2 million to upgrade the terminal.
All community members are welcome to attend the official opening on Tuesday August 9 at 12.30pm at the Cloncurry Airport.
